The Punjab Excise Department has introduced a new facility for overseas Pakistanis to make vehicle transactions easier. Biometrics for buying and selling vehicles can now be completed through the Pak ID App, officials confirmed.
Previously, overseas Pakistanis had to obtain an authority letter verified by a Pakistani embassy and submit it manually. This process often caused delays and left thousands of vehicles operating on open letters. The integration of biometrics with the Pak ID App aims to eliminate these issues and prevent fraudulent transfers.
According to Punjab Excise authorities, users can perform biometrics by entering the vehicle number, chassis number, and owner’s name in the Pak ID App. This system ensures that overseas Pakistanis can manage vehicle sales and purchases quickly, securely, and from anywhere in the world.
DG Excise Omar Sher Chatha has worked closely with NADRA to ensure smooth integration between the systems. Punjab follows Islamabad and Sindh, which had already started using the Pak ID App for biometric verification of vehicle transactions.
Officials said the new facility will make vehicle transfers transparent and secure. By using the Pak ID App, it will no longer be possible to transfer vehicles fraudulently in the name of overseas Pakistanis. Both Excise and NADRA systems have been synchronized to provide seamless service in the near future.
The initiative is expected to benefit thousands of overseas Pakistanis who previously faced long delays due to manual procedures. With the Pak ID App, vehicle transactions can now be completed efficiently, reducing paperwork and the risk of misuse.

This move is part of the government’s broader effort to digitize services and provide overseas citizens with easy access to official procedures. The integration of the Pak ID App is seen as a significant step in modernizing vehicle management in Punjab.
