RAWALPINDI โ€“ A ticket checker of Pakistan Railways has been suspended after allegedly assaulting a woman passenger on the โ€œPakistan Expressโ€ train. The train was traveling from Faisalabad to Rawalpindi when the incident occurred.

According to reports, the ticket examiner, identified as Irshad, also got into a brawl with other passengers. During the altercation, he reportedly slapped a woman passenger. The conflict began when a passenger placed luggage in the aisle, triggering a verbal argument that escalated quickly.

Passengers started recording the incident on their phones, which increased tensions on board. The situation eventually turned physical, and the train had to make a temporary stop due to the disturbance. Railway officials confirmed that other passengers intervened to calm the situation.

An official inquiry has been launched following complaints from passengers. The ticket checker, along with the police officer and guard on duty, will be questioned by the investigation team. Authorities stated that appropriate action will be taken after the inquiry concludes.

The suspension of the ticket checker reflects Pakistan Railwaysโ€™ commitment to maintaining safety and professionalism on trains. Officials emphasized that misconduct by railway staff will not be tolerated, and strict measures will be enforced to protect passengers.
