Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the Daanish School Mankera in Bhakkar and launched the School Meal Program at Government Primary School Kisanwala.
During her visit, Maryam Nawaz distributed lunchboxes to students and toured classrooms. She was pleased to see desks made from Re-Pak Recycling, highlighting the school’s eco-friendly initiative.
The Chief Minister announced the upgradation of three schools in Mankera. Government Girls Primary School Kisanwala was elevated from primary to elementary level. Government Elementary Schools in Kari and Noor Pur Shah were upgraded to high-grade status. A notification was issued immediately to implement these changes.
Maryam Nawaz interacted with students, praising their hard work and determination. She advised them: “Drink milk, eat nutritious food, and stay strong.” She also had lunch with students and celebrated the birthdays of three girls from Balochistan at the Girls Campus hostel of the Daanish School.
Emphasizing the importance of education, Maryam Nawaz said students should work hard, seek knowledge, and never fear challenges. She added that education brings respect, and as a mother, she is committed to supporting the girls of Punjab in every way possible.
Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat briefed the Chief Minister about the School Meal Program and Daanish Schools. He said 4,309 boys and 4,010 girls are currently receiving nutritious lunches. The program has increased student enrollment by 28 percent.
The Daanish School Mankera project, which began in 2017, now spreads over 250 acres and has 770 enrolled students. The School Meal Program is active in 8,319 schools across 13 districts of Punjab. So far, it has provided 33.7 million Re-Pak meals and 12.2 million biscuits to students.

The visit highlighted the government’s focus on improving education and nutrition in Punjab. Maryam Nawaz expressed satisfaction with the initiatives and reaffirmed her commitment to promoting learning and well-being for all students, especially girls.
