Bushra Bibi Shares Update On PTI Founder’s Current Condition

Barrister Gohar on Tuesday shared an update on the current condition of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, saying his health has improved compared to earlier days. He conveyed the message after speaking to Bushra Bibi, who recently met Imran Khan during his medical treatment.

According to Barrister Gohar, Bushra Bibi informed family members that Imran Khan was shifted from jail to a hospital for treatment. She said the treatment was carried out as per doctors’ advice. She also confirmed that Imran Khan chose the treatment plan himself, following medical guidance closely.

Barrister Gohar said the current condition of the PTI founder is better than before. However, he clarified that the treatment process is still ongoing. He stressed that Imran Khan has not fully recovered yet and continues to require medical care.

While speaking to the media, Barrister Gohar said that meetings with Imran Khan are a legal right. He added that family members, lawyers, and doctors must be allowed regular access. He warned that the party would renew its demand if meetings are denied again.

He expressed concern over restrictions on meetings. He said limiting meetings to short durations of 10 to 20 minutes is not suitable for someone with serious health issues. He added that such limitations create unnecessary stress and raise questions.

Barrister Gohar also pointed out confusion caused by conflicting statements about Imran Khan’s health. He said contradictory claims make it hard to understand the current condition clearly. He urged authorities to be transparent and responsible when sharing health updates.

He said the matter should not be treated lightly. He hoped the situation would improve in the coming days. He also expressed optimism that Imran Khan’s health would continue to move in a positive direction.

Earlier, the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi issued a contempt notice to the Adiala Jail superintendent. The court raised concerns over the failure to provide Imran Khan’s attendance through video link.

Judge Amjad Ali Shah noted that the jail administration did not follow court orders. Instead of arranging video attendance, only written reports were submitted. The court also highlighted that Imran Khan’s request to meet his personal doctors was ignored.

The court termed this failure a violation of orders under the Anti-Terrorism Act. A show-cause notice was issued, and the jail superintendent was summoned on February 6.

The development follows requests by Imran Khan’s legal team to allow access for his personal physicians at Adiala Jail.
