After 25 Years, Celebrities Join Lahore’s Basant Celebrations—But With Caution

After 25 years, the Basant festival has returned to Lahore, and celebrities celebrate the event with great excitement on social media. Fans are sharing posts, stories, and reels capturing the festive spirit.

Pakistani actress Maya Ali posted on her Instagram stories, greeting fans, “Lahore walo, phir kaisa chal rha hai sab?” She advised her followers to enjoy the festival safely, avoiding dangerous strings. She ended her post, saying, “Khushiyon ko, Khushi Khushi he celebrate krte h.”

Durefishan also joined the celebrations, posting on Instagram, “Lahore is so happy tonight. And that makes me happy. Dill hua Bo Kaata for my city.” Her post reflected the city-wide joy as kites filled the skies.

Ayeza Khan took the festivities up a notch, sharing images of herself dressed in desi attire, peeking through her car window. She captioned her post, “Basantiiiii, tu phir chalai Lahoreeee??? My kites are all prepared for tomorrow. Are yours???!!!?”

Legendary cricketer Waseem Akram shared his greetings in a video message. He said, “Zabardast din hai. Lahore mai basant ki amaad hai.” He praised the Punjab Government for organizing a safe festival and encouraged everyone to enjoy Basant responsibly with family and friends.

Meanwhile, singer Sahir Ali Bagga announced his upcoming Basant track, “GUDDI LAHORE DI UDDI.” He shared, “This song is a tribute to Lahore, its culture, and the joyous tradition of Basant.” He promised fans a musical experience that captures the festival’s vibrant spirit, with the release date to be announced soon.

Actor Hammad Shoaib posted a colourful reel, celebrating the return of Basant with decorated streets and festive energy. He captioned it, “BASANT BACK IN LAHORE AFTER 25 YEARS.” Madiha Naqvi also shared her excitement, showing off her Jugnu kites and writing, “Finally got my hands on Jugnu kites.”
