Multan Sultans Sold for Rs2.45 Billion in 10-Year PSL Deal

The Pakistan Super League franchise Multan Sultans has been sold to Wali Tech for Rs245 crore in a new 10-year ownership deal. The auction took place in Lahore and attracted strong interest from several bidders.

The bidding ceremony was held at the Expo Centre Lahore under the supervision of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Former PCB Chairman Najam Sethi and legendary batsman Zaheer Abbas were also present during the event. Owners of Lahore Qalandars, Sameen Rana and Atif Rana, attended the auction as well.

A total of five bidders competed for the Multan Sultans franchise. The base price for the team was set at Rs182 crore. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, six proposals were initially submitted. After a detailed evaluation, five bidders were declared technically qualified for the final auction round.

The final bid of Rs245 crore made Multan Sultans one of the most expensive teams in PSL history. The new ownership deal will run for a period of 10 years, giving Wali Tech long-term control of the franchise.

The auction was announced after former owner Ali Tareen decided not to renew his previous 10-year agreement with the PCB. His decision opened the door for a new bidding process for the franchise.

Officials described the auction as transparent and competitive. The strong bidding reflected the growing commercial value of the Pakistan Super League. The league has expanded its audience in recent years and continues to attract investors and sponsors.

With the new ownership in place, Multan Sultans are expected to continue building a competitive squad for upcoming PSL seasons. Fans will be watching closely to see how the new management shapes the team’s future.
