Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has renewed its demand for the removal of Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, citing misuse of the Governor House for political purposes. PPP leaders say this threatens both Sindh and the federation.
Labour Minister Saeed Ghani stated that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif should appoint a new governor, either from his own party or PPP. He warned that activities at the Governor House Karachi are politically biased and alarming.
Ghani added that some federal ministers allegedly tried to incite people while at the Governor House. He expressed concern over the resurgence of linguistic politics, calling it a serious threat to provincial harmony.
Provincial Minister Sharjeel Memon also criticized the partisan use of the Governor House. He said Karachi cannot tolerate political speeches from such institutions and called the behavior “unacceptable.”
Memon described a recent event at the Governor House as an extreme display of bias. He emphasized that Sindh has always been united and must remain so. He also highlighted tensions within MQM, noting that one member reportedly feared another, and that a sergeant was called in to control the situation.
PPP leaders urged restraint and warned against spreading hatred or engaging in divisive politics. They emphasized that constitutional and impartial conduct must be maintained in all key institutions, including the Governor House.
The party’s demand for Kamran Tessori’s removal has sparked political debate, with critics pointing to the need for neutrality in positions that hold provincial importance. The issue continues to draw attention from both federal and provincial authorities.
Political analysts say the call for Kamran Tessori’s removal reflects ongoing tensions in Sindh. They note that maintaining impartiality in governmental institutions is critical for peace and stability in the province.
