Drone Attack Hits Kuwait International Airport, No Casualties Reported

Kuwait International Airport was hit by a drone attack, officials confirmed, causing damage to the radar system. No injuries were reported.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said the attack damaged radar infrastructure. Airport operations were not directly affected, and emergency protocols were activated immediately.

โ€œThe situation was handled under the airportโ€™s emergency response plan,โ€ a spokesperson said. Authorities coordinated with national agencies to maintain aviation safety.

Technical inspections are ongoing to assess the full damage from the drone attack. Experts are working to restore the radar system to full functionality as quickly as possible.

This incident follows a previous attack on March 12, when multiple unmanned aerial vehicles also targeted Kuwait International Airport. The DGCA said both events caused material damage only, with no human casualties.

Abdullah al-Rajhi, the civil aviation spokesperson, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the emergency response plan has been in place since the start of the crisis. He emphasized that authorities acted promptly and effectively.

โ€œThe General Civil Aviation Authority has been targeted by several unmanned aircraft. Only material damage occurred, and no injuries were reported,โ€ Rajhi said. He added that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the continued safety of civil aviation in Kuwait.

The drone attack comes amid rising tensions in the region. Military activity has increased since February 28, when Israel and the United States launched a joint offensive against Iran. Regional security remains a top priority for Kuwait and surrounding nations.

Authorities said they are monitoring the situation closely and will continue coordinating with relevant agencies to prevent further incidents. Airport officials reassured travelers that safety measures remain in place, and flights continue with minimal disruption.

Kuwait International Airport is a critical hub for the country, and officials stressed their commitment to protecting aviation infrastructure against future threats. The DGCA is reviewing and strengthening its security protocols in response to these attacks.

The civil aviation authority said it remains vigilant and prepared to respond to any threats to ensure the safety of passengers, staff, and the national airspace.
