Gold Price Drops Rs8,100 per Tola Amid Global Downtrend

KARACHI โ€“ The gold price in Pakistan fell sharply on Friday as international markets continued their downward trend.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the per tola gold price dropped by Rs8,100, reaching Rs491,362. The 10-gram rate also fell by Rs6,945, settling at Rs421,263.

The fall in domestic rates mirrored a decline in the global bullion market. Internationally, the price of gold per ounce fell to $4,686, down $81 from previous levels. Analysts attribute the drop to weakening demand and market corrections ahead of the Eid holidays.

Silver prices also moved lower. The per tola rate of silver decreased by Rs50, closing at Rs7,684. Investors and traders showed caution as precious metals continued to fluctuate.

Meanwhile, global oil prices declined on Friday. Major European countries and Japan offered measures to secure shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, while the United States announced plans to increase oil supply. Brent crude futures fell 39 cents, reaching $108.26 per barrel, and U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude dropped 87 cents to $95.27 per barrel.

Despite the daily drop, Brent remained on track for nearly a 5% gain over the week. Iranian attacks on oil and gas facilities in the Gulf had temporarily reduced production, raising concerns about global supply and boosting weekly gains.

Market experts say the declining gold price provides opportunities for buyers, but investors are advised to monitor international trends closely. The recent drop is part of a broader adjustment in global commodity markets influenced by economic conditions and geopolitical developments.

Traders expect the gold price to remain volatile in the coming days, especially as Pakistan approaches the Eidul Fitr holidays, when demand traditionally rises.
