FBR Approves Use of Seized Vehicles for Enforcement

FBR Approves Use of Seized Vehicles for Enforcement

The Federal Board of Revenue has approved the use of tampered vehicles above 1800cc for operational purposes starting April 2026.

Under the new Customs General Order, these vehicles will be used by Anti-Smuggling and Enforcement units in difficult and border regions.

The policy also extends to hard-area formations in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including key border locations and transit trade points.

The FBR has introduced a standardized procedure to regulate the use and disposal of confiscated vehicles with altered chassis numbers.

These vehicles can only be sold to government or semi-government institutions, while individuals are strictly barred from purchasing them.

Officials say the move aims to improve operational efficiency while ensuring transparency through a new digital tracking system for seized vehicles.
