PM Shehbaz Highlights Pakistan’s Role in Securing Ceasefire After Historic Talks

Shehbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan will continue to work for peace in the region. He emphasized that wars take years to begin and even longer to end.

While briefing cabinet members, PM Shehbaz spoke about recent diplomatic efforts. He said talks between Iran and the United States helped ease tensions. He added that the situation has improved after a period of uncertainty.

According to PM Shehbaz, the ongoing ceasefire between the two sides is still holding. He said this offers a chance to turn conflict into lasting peace. He also noted that Pakistan will continue to support dialogue and stability.

The Prime Minister shared details of the high-level talks held in Islamabad. He said the US delegation was led by JD Vance. The Iranian side included Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and senior officials.

PM Shehbaz said both delegations held direct talks for 21 hours. He described it as a historic moment. He added that it was the first such face-to-face meeting in 47 years.

He said Pakistan’s leadership worked continuously to support the dialogue. These efforts helped maintain the ceasefire, even though some issues remain unresolved.

The Prime Minister called the Islamabad talks a major diplomatic achievement. He said it showed Pakistan’s commitment to peace during global uncertainty.

He also shared that international leaders appreciated Pakistan’s role. The Prime Minister of Japan contacted him to congratulate the country. Several European leaders also praised the efforts.

PM Shehbaz credited the success to teamwork and national support. He mentioned Ishaq Dar and Asim Munir for their contributions.

He said their leadership played a key role in keeping talks on track. He also revealed that negotiations faced challenges at times. However, timely efforts helped prevent a breakdown.
