Iran has strongly rejected recent claims about its nuclear program. Officials clarified that no nuclear material will be sent abroad under any agreement with the United States.
Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh made the statement during an interview with the Associated Press. He firmly denied any possibility of shipping enriched nuclear material to the US.
He said the idea of shipping enriched material is completely unacceptable to Iran. He called it a โnon-starterโ and insisted the country will not agree to such conditions.
Khatibzadeh added that Iran is open to discussing concerns through diplomacy. However, he said Tehran will not accept demands it considers unrealistic or extreme.
His remarks came after comments by US President Donald Trump. Trump had suggested that the United States could โget all the nuclear dustโ from Iran. Some interpreted this as a reference to shipping enriched uranium out of the country.
Iran dismissed those claims as misleading. Officials said such proposals do not align with ongoing negotiations.
Khatibzadeh also said that talks between Iran and the US are currently stalled. He explained that a new round of negotiations has not been scheduled yet.
He blamed what he described as โmaximalist demandsโ from the US side. According to him, these demands are preventing progress in diplomacy.
Iran is instead pushing for a framework agreement before moving forward. Officials believe this step is necessary before any further talks take place.
Earlier discussions were held in Islamabad between both sides. These talks followed a temporary ceasefire announcement linked to regional tensions.
Trump had previously announced a short pause in hostilities and proposed a basis for negotiations. However, no final agreement has been reached.
Iran continues to insist that any deal must respect its position. Officials repeated that shipping enriched nuclear material is not part of any acceptable arrangement.
The situation remains sensitive as both sides hold firm positions. Diplomatic efforts continue, but major disagreements remain unresolved.
For now, Iran has made its stance clear. It will not agree to shipping enriched material under pressure or external conditions.
