PAKPATTAN – A shocking crime has been reported in Pakpattan where a female government schoolteacher was abducted and murdered by her tenant, a police constable, according to officials.
Police said the victim, identified as Rehana Akhtar, was allegedly kidnapped with the help of accomplices. The suspect later carried out a brutal act that kills woman in a planned attack.
Investigators revealed that the accused allegedly killed her and tried to hide the crime. Her body was later burned in an attempt to destroy evidence and conceal identity.
The burned remains were recovered from agricultural fields around 25 kilometers away from the city. The area falls under the jurisdiction of Rang Shah police station.
Police confirmed that the victim’s daughter identified the body using shoes and personal belongings.
Authorities believe the main suspect, Constable Zahid, was renting a room in the victim’s house. He is suspected of targeting her property.
Officials said this act kills woman in what appears to be a planned attempt to take illegal possession of the house.
A case has been registered based on a complaint filed by the victim’s brother, Umar Daraz Khan. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused and his accomplices.
District Police Officer (DPO) Javed Chaddhar has taken strict notice of the incident. He ordered immediate arrests and a full investigation.
Police have already arrested two suspects, including Asif and a woman involved in the case.
However, the main accused constable remains on the run. Raids are ongoing to capture him.
Authorities said the suspect was on departmental leave for four days at the time of the incident.
Investigators also revealed disturbing details. Petrol was allegedly poured on the victim’s body before it was set on fire.
Officials believe this was done to destroy forensic evidence.
The case has raised serious concerns in the area as the incident kills woman in a violent and pre-planned manner.
