As Eidul Azha approaches, Goat, bull prices in Pakistan have increased due to higher demand and inflation. Markets across major cities are seeing active buying and selling. Livestock traders report steady price growth compared to last year.
The rise in Goat, bull prices is mainly linked to increased demand for Qurbani animals. Muslims prepare for Eidul Azha by purchasing goats, sheep, and bulls for sacrifice. This yearly tradition has created strong market activity across the country.
This year, goat prices have moved higher. A medium goat that previously cost between Rs50,000 and Rs60,000 is now selling for Rs60,000 to Rs70,000. Premium goats are also more expensive. Some high-quality animals are now priced up to Rs160,000, compared to around Rs150,000 last year.
The trend in Goat, bull prices also reflects inflation and rising maintenance costs for livestock farmers. Feed, transport, and care expenses have all increased. These factors are directly impacting market rates.
Bull prices have also shown changes this season. Last year, a good-quality bull weighing around three maunds was sold for Rs180,000 to Rs200,000. This year, many bulls are expected to stay within a similar range, though demand may push prices slightly higher in some markets.
Despite high supply in livestock markets, prices remain strong. Traders say border restrictions have limited animal exports. This has kept more animals in local markets but has not significantly reduced prices.
Mosques and community groups have also set shared Qurbani rates. A single bull is often divided into seven shares. Each share is priced between Rs28,000 and Rs32,000 depending on the location and animal quality.
Across Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad, large cattle farms are preparing for peak Eid sales. These farms raise animals throughout the year for this season.
On premium farms, Goat, bull prices can reach very high levels. Some bulls are priced between Rs500,000 and Rs5 million. In rare cases, elite bulls in Karachi exceed Rs10 million.
Overall, the market shows a steady rise in livestock prices. Buyers continue to face higher costs as Eidul Azha nears.
