Punjab is moving ahead with its major cultural development plan. CM Maryam Nawaz has taken a key step in strengthening the Punjab Film City project. She met Oscar-winning filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy for future collaboration.

During the discussion, both sides explored cooperation for the Punjab Film City project. The project is planned in NUST City. It aims to become Pakistan’s first complete media production hub.
CM Maryam Nawaz shared that the project will include modern facilities. These will support film, television, digital media, and post-production work. The goal is to build a strong creative industry in Punjab.
She further explained that the Film City will include advanced studios. It will also feature sound stages and post-production labs. Special shooting locations will also be developed, including a scenic lake.
The project will also include a convention hall and media trade center. A film and music school is also part of the development plan. These facilities aim to train new talent in the media industry.
CM Maryam Nawaz said the initiative will help boost cultural and creative growth. She added that it will also create new job opportunities for young people.
