Trump Reviews Iran’s 14-Point Response to US Proposal Amid Rising Tensions

Iran has submitted a 14-point response to a United States proposal aimed at ending the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the US, and Israel. The move comes as diplomatic efforts increase alongside continued tensions in the region.

According to Iranian state-linked media, including Tasnim News Agency and Press TV, Tehran has formally presented its 14-point plan. The proposal outlines a framework for resolving the conflict within a shorter timeline than previously suggested by the United States.

Reports indicate that the conflict escalated after US and Israeli strikes on Iran on February 28. Since then, both sides have explored diplomatic options to reduce tensions and prevent further escalation.

Key Elements of the 14-Point Proposal

Iran’s 14-point plan proposes ending the conflict within 30 days. This differs from the US proposal, which reportedly suggested a two-month ceasefire. Tehran has emphasized a faster resolution, aiming to settle major issues within one month.

The plan includes several key conditions. Iran has called for guarantees against future military attacks. It has also demanded the withdrawal of US forces from areas near its borders.

Additionally, Tehran has asked for an end to the naval blockade and a halt to hostilities across the region, including in Lebanon. These measures are presented as necessary steps toward long-term stability.

Economic and Strategic Demands

The proposal also includes economic demands. Iran has requested the release of its frozen assets and the lifting of sanctions. It has further called for reparations related to recent military actions.

A notable part of the plan focuses on the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has suggested a new governance mechanism for this vital global shipping route. Reports indicate that the proposal includes a one-month timeline for negotiations to reopen the strait and end the US naval blockade.

A second phase of discussions would address Iran’s nuclear program. This phase would begin after broader regional issues are resolved.

US Response and Ongoing Diplomacy

US President Donald Trump has confirmed that he is reviewing the proposal. However, he expressed doubts about its acceptance. He described current US measures as a “friendly blockade” and indicated that further action remains possible.

Despite the tensions, some reports suggest Iran has softened its position. It may be open to phased negotiations if certain conditions are met, including easing sanctions.

Iran is also reportedly considering Pakistan as a venue for future talks. While no official confirmation has been made, earlier discussions in Islamabad did not lead to a final agreement. However, diplomatic channels remain active.
