The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has approved several financial measures for different sectors of the country. These sectors include education, energy, industry, and public administration. The decisions were made during a meeting held at the Finance Division.
The meeting was chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb. Senior ministers and officials from relevant departments also attended the session.
One of the important approvals was funding for Marqa-e-Haq and Independence Day celebrations. The ECC sanctioned Rs. 59.624 million for national-level events linked to Marqa-e-Haq 2025. The amount was proposed by the National Heritage and Culture Division.
The government said the funding will support cultural and commemorative activities across the country. Officials believe the Marqa-e-Haq celebrations will highlight national history and unity.
The ECC also approved Technical Supplementary Grants (TSGs) worth around Rs. 3.01 billion. These grants cover multiple development and administrative projects.
In the education sector, Rs. 100 million was approved for the construction of the Faiz Ahmad Faiz Complex. The project aims to improve cultural and educational infrastructure in the region.
Another Rs. 350 million was approved for Daanish Schools Kuri in Islamabad. The funding will help manage operational needs and support academic activities after classes begin.
In the industrial sector, the ECC approved the revival of National Steel Complex Limited. The committee allowed gas supply for industrial use and captive power generation. This approval will be subject to gas availability and tariff rules.
The ECC also directed authorities to prepare a uniform policy for similar industrial approvals in the future.
In the power sector, the committee approved the same Use of System Charges for all electricity distribution companies. This includes K-Electric under the Competitive Trading Bilateral Contract Market system. The move aims to create equal opportunities in the power market.
Separately, Rs. 2.5 billion was approved for the Directorate General Immigration and Passports. The grant will cover salaries, production materials, and pending liabilities for the fiscal year 2025-26.

The ECC stressed the need for timely implementation of all approved measures. Officials said policy discipline and effective execution remain top priorities for the government.
