The Sindh Social Protection Authority has announced new welfare initiatives. These programs aim to support Children and vulnerable families across the province.
Under the Sindh Social Protection Program, the government will provide financial aid to Children aged from birth to five years. Each eligible child will receive Rs. 3,000 as a stipend. The focus will be mainly on rural areas.
The decision was approved during a board meeting led by Syed Murad Ali Shah. The meeting reviewed several social welfare projects and future plans.
One major step is the launch of an Early Childhood Development program. This initiative will benefit around 885,000 Children across Sindh. It aims to improve early education, nutrition, and overall development.
The government also approved updates to the Mamta maternal health program. This program already operates in 22 districts. It supports over one million registered beneficiaries.
To improve financial stability, a new payment system has been introduced. Mothers will now receive payments on a fixed schedule. This will reduce uncertainty for families.
Officials also approved full financial support for a motherโs pregnancy or youngest child. Older Children under two years will receive 75 percent of the support amount. This ensures wider coverage for families in need.
The Early Childhood Development project has a budget of Rs. 14 billion. It is funded with support from international partners. Caregivers will receive financial assistance along with health and nutrition guidance.
Another program will support women agricultural workers. It will provide cash aid during low-income periods. This aims to improve food security in rural households.
The government is also planning to expand services to urban areas. A feasibility study will be conducted in collaboration with the Gates Foundation. The expansion will focus on Karachi and Hyderabad.
Additional steps include improving healthcare access in new districts. Hospitals will play a key role in delivering services to mothers and Children.
The government has also approved a budget of Rs. 2.29 billion for the next fiscal year. Special committees will oversee governance and implementation.
