Iran Clears Second Qatari LNG Shipment to Pakistan Through Hormuz Strait

Doha โ€“ Qatar has sent a second large shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) toward Pakistan. The cargo passed through the Iran-controlled Strait of Hormuz safely.

The shipment comes at a time when regional maritime routes are under close observation. The waterway remains strategically important for global energy supplies. The role of Iran in securing passage through the Strait of Hormuz has drawn international attention.

According to shipping data, the LNG carrier has already exited the Strait of Hormuz. It is now moving through the Gulf of Oman. The vessel is reportedly heading toward Pakistanโ€™s energy terminals.

This is the second LNG shipment sent to Pakistan in recent days. The first vessel had also crossed the same route last week and reached near Port Qasim.

The current tanker, identified as Mihzem, is registered under Singapore flag. Tracking systems show Pakistan as its final destination. However, the vessel had earlier stopped transmitting signals during transit.

This pause in tracking was linked to rising tensions in the region. Maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, near Iran, has faced occasional disruptions due to geopolitical concerns.

Reports also indicate that several other tankers in the area temporarily disabled tracking systems. These vessels were carrying cargo from Abu Dhabi National Oil Company facilities at Das Island.

Such actions are often taken to avoid risks while passing through sensitive maritime zones near Iran. The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the worldโ€™s most critical energy routes.

Authorities continue to monitor shipping movements closely. The route between Qatar, Iran, and Pakistan plays a key role in regional energy supply chains.

Pakistan relies heavily on LNG imports to meet its energy needs. The arrival of these shipments is expected to support the countryโ€™s power and industrial sectors.

The latest movement of LNG cargo highlights ongoing energy cooperation in the region. At the same time, it reflects the importance of secure maritime passage through waters near Iran for global trade stability.
