The Cabinet Division has released the official Toshakhana record for the first quarter of 2026, covering the period from January to March. The document lists President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and several senior government officials among recipients of valuable gifts.
According to the official statement, all gifts received by government officeholders were deposited in Toshakhana under the applicable rules and procedures.
The released record showed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received the highest number of gifts during the three-month period. According to the document, the prime minister received a total of 27 gifts.
These items reportedly included a Patek Philippe watch, three Rolex watches, gold models, and several jewellery sets. The details were included in the latest Toshakhana report issued by the Cabinet Division.
President Asif Ali Zardari also appeared on the list of recipients. The document stated that he received 10 valuable gifts during the same period.
The gifts presented to the president reportedly included a Vacheron Constantin watch, decorative swords, a chess set, and a wool overcoat.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar was also listed among officials who received gifts. According to the released record, he received eight gifts, including a Rolex watch.
The Cabinet Division document further showed that First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari received a jewellery set and traditional attire. Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari was also mentioned in the record for receiving a valuable necklace.
Several other government officials were included in the released list. These included Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi, and Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja.
Former National Accountability Bureau chairman Lt Gen (retd) Nazir Ahmad Butt was also named among the recipients in the official document.
The release of Toshakhana records often attracts public attention due to the nature and value of gifts received by public officeholders. The records are maintained by the Cabinet Division under rules governing state gifts received by officials during official visits, diplomatic meetings, and international engagements.
Under existing procedures, gifts received by state officials are documented and deposited according to government regulations. In some cases, officials may retain items after completing the required valuation and payment process under Toshakhana rules.
The latest document once again sparked discussion on social media regarding transparency and official gift records in Pakistan.
