Pakistan and nine other countries have strongly criticized Israel over its latest actions against the Global Sumud Flotilla, a humanitarian mission aimed at drawing attention to the worsening humanitarian crisis faced by Palestinians.
The countries included Pakistan, Turkiye, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Jordan, Libya, Maldives, and Spain. In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of these nations said the flotilla represented a peaceful humanitarian effort and should not have been targeted.
The participating countries used strong words to Condemn the attacks on civilian vessels and humanitarian activists. They expressed serious concern over reports of assaults, detentions, and interventions involving the flotilla in international waters.
According to the statement, the countries recalled previous incidents involving humanitarian missions and criticized the continuation of similar actions. The ministers said these attacks violate international law and humanitarian principles.
The joint statement further said that attacks on civilian ships and the detention of activists cannot be justified. The countries also stressed that humanitarian missions must be protected under international legal frameworks.
The foreign ministers called for the immediate release of all detained activists linked to the Global Sumud Flotilla. They urged authorities to fully respect the rights, safety, and dignity of all civilians involved in the mission.
The nations also repeated their concerns about the humanitarian situation faced by Palestinians. They stated that peaceful humanitarian efforts should not face violence or obstruction.
Several participating countries continued to Condemn what they described as hostile actions against unarmed civilian groups. They emphasized that international waters should remain safe for humanitarian activities and peaceful advocacy campaigns.
The statement highlighted growing international concern regarding rising tensions in the region. It also reflected broader calls for accountability and respect for international humanitarian law.
The Global Sumud Flotilla was reportedly launched to raise awareness about the humanitarian difficulties faced by Palestinians and to show solidarity with affected civilians. The mission included activists and humanitarian supporters from different countries.
The joint response from the ten nations signals increasing diplomatic pressure regarding the treatment of humanitarian missions in conflict-related areas. The countries once again used the term Condemn while urging the international community to take notice of the situation.
