Dubai Confirms Private School Fees Freeze for 2026–27 Academic Year

Dubai Confirms Private School Fees Freeze for 2026–27 Academic Year

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has confirmed that private school fees in Dubai will remain unchanged for the 2026–27 academic year. The decision follows directives issued by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Officials said the move supports families and helps maintain stability in the education sector. It comes as Dubai continues to introduce major economic reforms and development plans.

The decision is part of a wider support package aimed at strengthening key sectors. Authorities confirmed that Dubai recently approved a Dh1.5 billion economic incentives package. This brings total support measures to Dh2.5 billion.

The initiatives will be implemented over the next three to twelve months. They cover several areas, including education, housing, and business support. The goal is to improve operational stability across the emirate.

KHDA said private schools in Dubai will benefit from flexible fee structures. These include deferred or installment-based license renewal payments. Some fines will also be postponed under the new plan.

Early childhood centers in Dubai will receive additional support. These include exemptions from license renewal fees and certain municipal charges. Rent-related relief measures have also been introduced for some institutions.

Authorities added that Dubai will also provide further financial flexibility. This includes partial or full exemption from guarantee insurance requirements. It also includes a freeze on rent increases during renewal periods.

Officials stated that these steps are designed to support schools and investors. At the same time, they aim to protect families from rising education costs.

Dubai’s private education sector continues to expand steadily. More than 95% of students attend in-person classes across various schools. The emirate currently offers 17 different curricula for students.

KHDA reported strong growth in school capacity. Around 9,000 new affordable school seats were added in the current academic year. Another 7,500 seats are expected to be added in the coming years.

Authorities also confirmed that more than 30 applications for new private schools are under review. Several new institutions have already opened this year in Dubai.

Education enrolment has increased by around 6% in 2025. Officials said this reflects growing demand for quality education in Dubai.
