The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to build Pakistan’s first international-level wildlife Park in Islamabad. The project will be developed in the Malpur Forestry Park area near Bara Kahu and Murree Road.
The new Park will cover around 350 acres of land. It is designed to promote wildlife conservation, eco-tourism, and family entertainment in the federal capital.
According to CDA officials, the selected area is part of natural forest land. Authorities have said the forest ecosystem will remain protected during development. The project aims to preserve the natural habitat while creating a modern safari experience.
The feasibility study and conceptual design for the Park have already been completed. The project will now enter the tendering phase before construction begins.
Officials said the safari Park will be home to around 3,605 animals. These animals will be placed in 10 separate safari and wildlife zones. Each zone will be designed to match the animals’ natural environment.
One of the main attractions will be a 1,000-kanal ungulate safari. This will be the largest section of the park. It will include safari tours, viewing points, walking trails, and a glass soft-wheel train.
A separate 180-kanal big cat zone will house lions, tigers, bears, hyenas, and African wild dogs. Each species will have its own secure space.
The plan also includes 340 kanals of wildlife sanctuaries for crocodiles, rhinos, elephants, and hippos. A 100-kanal Wildlife Care Complex will also be built. It will include modern veterinary, treatment, and quarantine facilities.
Visitors will also enjoy a Safari Pavilion for ticketing and information. A 400-kanal Safari Village will offer lodges, dining, and recreational spots.
The project includes a 50-kanal food street linked to Murree Road. It will feature themed restaurants and cafes.
Other attractions include a jungle play area, koi fish pond, zipline, and an immersive museum. A one-kilometre Forest Canopy Walk will offer scenic views of the forest.
The Park will also have a natural lake, bridge walks, safari tours, and a two-kilometre chairlift track.
