PPP and PML-N Agree on Possible Balochistan Cabinet Changes

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have agreed on possible changes in the Balochistan cabinet, according to party sources on Tuesday.

The two major political parties are key partners in the current power-sharing setup. Their leadership has remained in close contact to discuss matters related to the Balochistan government.

Sources said both sides exchanged views on the provincial political situation. They also agreed to hold an early meeting to discuss the future structure of the Balochistan cabinet.

To move the process forward, both parties have appointed representatives for further talks. National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq will represent PML-N. On the other side, Aijaz Jakhrani has been nominated by PPP.

According to sources, these representatives will hold consultations and prepare a report. The report will focus on the proposed changes in the Balochistan cabinet and will be submitted to their party leadership.

The discussions are expected to cover possible changes in ministerial portfolios. Sources said some ministers from both PPP and PML-N may see their departments changed.

There is also a possibility that some provincial ministers could be removed. At the same time, new ministers and advisers may be added to strengthen the government.

Political observers believe the expected reshuffle could affect the current balance of power in Balochistan. The province remains politically important due to its strategic position and ongoing development projects.

The consultation process is likely to continue in the coming weeks. Final decisions will depend on the recommendations of both partiesโ€™ representatives.

Sources added that the cabinet reshuffle in Balochistan could take place within the next month. However, no official announcement has been made yet.
