The 27th martyrdom anniversary of Kargil war hero Havaldar Lalak Jan Nishan-e-Haider is being observed across Pakistan today. The nation is paying tribute to his extraordinary courage, patriotism, and supreme sacrifice in defence of the country.

The armed forces, senior military leadership, and people from different walks of life have honoured the brave soldier for his unwavering commitment during the 1999 Kargil conflict. Ceremonies and tributes have highlighted his lasting legacy and service to the nation.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Air Staff, and the Chief of Naval Staff paid tribute to the fallen hero. They praised his courage and dedication while remembering his sacrifice for Pakistan’s sovereignty.

Born on April 1, 1967, Havaldar Lalak Jan joined the Pakistan Army on December 10, 1984. He served in the Northern Light Infantry Regiment and later became one of the country’s most respected military heroes during the Kargil conflict.

When fighting intensified in the mountainous Kargil region in 1999, he volunteered to serve on the front lines. Despite the difficult terrain and continuous attacks, he remained determined to defend his assigned position.
