The government has clarified that Gas supply across Pakistan continues without any new disruption. Officials said recent media reports created the impression that another wave of gas shortages had started, but they stressed that the situation remains unchanged.
According to the official statement, some news reports suggested that a fresh force majeure had affected gas consumers and could lead to supply cuts. However, authorities said these reports do not reflect the actual situation.
Officials confirmed that no new curtailment has been introduced and Gas supply to consumers remains the same as before. They urged the public not to rely on misleading reports that may cause unnecessary concern.
The government explained that the force majeure declared by Qatar Energy in March 2026 is not a new development. The declaration has been extended several times, including its latest extension communicated through Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).
Authorities said this situation has been ongoing for months and has already been considered in national gas planning. Therefore, the latest extension has not created any additional pressure on the country’s energy system.
The Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) and the National Coordination and Management Council (NCMC) continue to monitor the situation closely. Both institutions are working together to ensure uninterrupted Gas supply across different sectors.
Officials said indigenous gas production has been optimized to make the best use of available local resources. At the same time, imported Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) cargoes are being arranged regularly to meet national demand.
The government stated that these combined efforts have helped maintain stable gas availability despite challenges in the international energy market.
According to officials, household consumers continue to receive gas during cooking hours. Ensuring uninterrupted supply to homes remains one of the government’s key priorities.
Authorities also confirmed that industries are receiving continuous gas supplies to support manufacturing and economic activity. Fertilizer plants are also receiving the required gas to maintain production and support the agriculture sector.
The government emphasized that providing gas to industries and fertilizer manufacturers is important for economic stability and food security.
Special attention is also being given to the power sector. Officials said sufficient gas is being supplied to power plants to help reduce electricity load shedding and maintain stable power generation.
Energy authorities explained that careful planning and coordination have allowed Pakistan to manage available gas resources efficiently. They said regular monitoring continues to ensure that demand is met across all priority sectors.
The government reiterated that there has been no fresh reduction in Gas supply for domestic, industrial, fertilizer, or power consumers. Officials advised citizens to rely on official announcements for accurate information regarding the country’s gas situation.
