ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has sent 100 tonnes of relief supplies to flood-hit Nepal, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The relief consignment was transported to Kathmandu on a chartered aircraft. The shipment aims to support people affected by severe flooding in Nepal.
A ceremony was held at Islamabad International Airport before the relief supplies were dispatched. Government officials and representatives attended the event.
Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry participated in the ceremony. NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik was also present.
The Nepalese ambassador attended the event along with senior government officials. Representatives from the NDMA and Ministry of Foreign Affairs also joined the ceremony.
Welfare organisations also took part in the dispatch event. Their participation reflected cooperation between government institutions and humanitarian organisations.
The relief shipment contains several essential items for flood-affected communities. These supplies include tents, blankets, mats, hygiene kits and medicines.
