The Balochistan government has announced revised winter office timings for government departments.
The new schedule will take effect from October 15, 2026. It will remain applicable until April 14, 2027.
The Services and General Administration Department issued a notification regarding the revised timings.
Under the new schedule, government offices will operate from 8:30am to 4pm. These timings will apply from Monday to Thursday.
Employees will have a lunch and prayer break during the working day. The break will be from 1:30pm to 2pm.
Friday Winter Office Timings
The government has also announced separate timings for Fridays.
On Friday, government offices will open at 8:30am. They will remain operational until 3:30pm.
Employees will receive a break from 1:15pm to 2:15pm. The break will cover Friday prayers and lunch.
The revised Winter Office schedule aims to adjust working hours during the colder months.
Two Weekly Holidays Announced
Government offices will remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
This means government employees will have two weekly holidays under the new schedule.
The arrangement will remain in place throughout the announced winter period. Departments will follow the revised timings until April 14, 2027.
However, the new Winter Office schedule will not apply to all government institutions.
Hospitals and Educational Institutions Exempt
Hospitals will remain outside the scope of the revised office timings.
Educational institutions will also continue following their existing schedules. Schools, colleges, and universities are exempt from the new government office timetable.
The exemption means students and teaching staff will not follow the newly announced office hours.
Health and Education Attached Offices
Attached offices of the Health and Education Departments will follow a separate schedule.
These offices will operate on a six-day working week.
From Monday to Thursday, their working hours will start at 8:30am. They will remain open until 2:30pm on Saturday as well.
On Friday, these offices will operate from 8:30am to 12:30pm.
Saturday will therefore remain a working day for these attached offices. Sunday will remain the weekly holiday under the specified arrangement.
New Schedule for Seasonal Conditions
The Balochistan government introduced the revised Winter Office timings to suit seasonal conditions.
The schedule is designed to regulate government office routines during the winter months.
Employees and visitors are advised to follow the timings applicable to their respective departments.
The notification provides separate working arrangements for regular government offices. It also sets different hours for attached Health and Education Department offices.
