Benazir Bhutto General Hospital (BBGH) in Rawalpindi has expanded its healthcare services by introducing an emergency dialysis centre. The hospital has also made two additional operation theatres functional and started constructing a public facilitation hall.

These developments aim to improve patient care and provide better access to medical services. The new facilities are expected to reduce waiting times and help patients receive timely treatment.

Emergency Dialysis Centre Launched

The hospital has established an emergency dialysis centre equipped with five machines. The facility will provide urgent dialysis services to critically ill patients who require immediate treatment.

According to hospital officials, the centre will help patients avoid delays caused by routine dialysis arrangements. This service is expected to improve access to emergency medical care.

In addition, two dialysis machines have been added to the Urology Department. With this addition, the department now has a total of 15 dialysis machines.

However, three machines are currently undergoing maintenance. The hospital also has two separate dialysis machines dedicated to patients with hepatitis.

The expansion is expected to strengthen the hospital’s ability to manage dialysis patients and address urgent medical needs.

Two New Operation Theatres Become Functional

Benazir Bhutto General Hospital has also activated two additional operation theatres in its Urology Department. The hospital arranged the necessary staff before making these facilities operational.

The new operation theatres were established with financial support from Haji Naeem of Savour Foods. Their addition is expected to reduce waiting times for patients requiring surgical procedures.

The facility will also help the department manage its surgical workload more effectively. Patients requiring urological operations are expected to benefit from the improved arrangements.

Construction of Public Facilitation Hall Begins

In another development, construction has started on a public facilitation hall at the hospital. The project is being supported by the Dr Aslam Foundation.

The hall is being established for the first time to assist patients and their attendants. It will provide guidance about treatment procedures and other hospital services.

The facility aims to make it easier for visitors to obtain relevant information. It is also expected to improve coordination between patients, attendants, and hospital staff.

BBGH Medical Superintendent Dr Sharjeel Sarfraz Sheikh said the facilitation hall would improve access to healthcare services. He added that it would provide better assistance to patients and their attendants.

Hospital Focuses on Better Patient Care

The latest improvements reflect efforts to strengthen healthcare facilities at Benazir Bhutto General Hospital. The emergency dialysis centre will support patients requiring urgent treatment, while the new operation theatres will help address surgical needs.

Meanwhile, the public facilitation hall is expected to improve guidance for patients visiting the hospital.
