The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued notices to several religious seminaries linked to JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad. The authority has accused these madrassas of violating building regulations.

The notices warn of possible legal action against the administrations. The CDA has also warned that the seminaries could face sealing if they fail to address the reported violations.

According to the notices, the authority found concerns regarding construction work carried out without approved building plans. The administrations have been directed to follow the relevant building regulations.

CDA Seeks Approved Building Maps From Madrassa

The CDA has specifically issued a notice to Madrassa Akhtarul Uloom. The authority alleged that the institution constructed buildings without obtaining approval for their maps.

The madrassa administration has been given 15 days to submit approved building plans. It must provide the required documents to the authority within the given deadline.

The CDA has warned that failure to comply could lead to further legal proceedings. Sealing the buildings is also among the possible actions mentioned in the notices.

The development comes as the authority continues to address alleged violations of construction rules in Islamabad. Religious institutions and other buildings are required to follow the applicable regulations.

SECP Issues Notices to Three Hajj Companies

Meanwhile, another development has emerged involving companies reportedly linked to a close associate of Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

On Friday, 24News reported that the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) had issued show-cause notices to three Hajj operator companies.

The companies are reportedly linked to Mufti Ibrar, who is described as a close aide to the JUI-F chief.

The three companies named in the report are Sajjad Travels and Tours, AL Rehab International and Shukar Al Faizan Travels.

The SECP has directed AL Rehab International to provide complete information about its beneficial owners. The regulator wants details about the individuals who ultimately own or control the company.

The other two companies have been asked to explain their alleged failure to follow corporate transparency laws. They have been given 14 days to submit their formal responses.

Corporate and Regulatory Investigations Continue

According to SECP officials, the notices are part of wider financial and corporate investigations. These investigations reportedly involve individuals and networks connected to a particular political circle.

The regulator’s action focuses on corporate transparency and compliance requirements. Companies operating in Pakistan must provide accurate ownership information and follow relevant laws.

The notices issued to the madrassas and Hajj operators involve separate regulatory matters. The CDA is addressing alleged building violations, while the SECP is examining corporate compliance issues.

Both developments have brought attention to regulatory oversight in Islamabad and the corporate sector. The concerned institutions and companies are expected to respond within the deadlines mentioned in their respective notices.

Further action will depend on their responses and the findings of the relevant authorities.
