Khawar Maneka was apprehended at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport a day earlier. Reports indicate that federal investigators detained him and subsequently handed him over to the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE).
Maneka, who hails from Pakpattan and is known for his spiritual devotion to the 13th-century mystic Baba Farid Ganj Shakkar, had intended to travel to Dubai when FIA officials detained him during a routine check. ACE officials have also registered a case against Khawar Maneka, and his name was on the Exit Control List (ECL).
Previously, the deputy commissioner of Okara had submitted a petition for the registration of a case against Maneka, his son, and other individuals in June, alleging illegal occupation of land belonging to the Auqaf Department.
