In a statement issued on Thursday, Pakistan vehemently condemned the indiscriminate use of force by Israeli authorities in Gaza and called for an immediate end to what they described as an “inhumane” blockade that has exacerbated the already dire humanitarian situation in the region. The Foreign Office spokesperson, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, stressed the gravity of the situation, expressing deep concern for the Palestinians in Gaza who have been severely affected by the Israeli blockade. She highlighted the unjust decisions to cut off vital necessities such as electricity, fuel, and water, emphasizing the urgent need for reversal to prevent further suffering.

Baloch urged the United Nations to take proactive measures in facilitating a ceasefire to alleviate the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. She also called on Israel to cease its indiscriminate bombing campaign in the region, emphasizing that it should fulfill its obligations as an occupying power under international law. This includes lifting the blockade and allowing unrestricted access to humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people.
Furthermore, Baloch emphasized that the ongoing cycle of aggression and violence in the region is a stark reminder of the consequences of over seven decades of illegal foreign occupation, aggression, and disregard for international law. Pakistan has consistently cautioned against the serious repercussions of Israel’s escalatory actions in recent months.
She concluded by urging the international community to play a pivotal role in supporting a just, comprehensive, and lasting two-state solution. This solution would lead to the establishment of a viable, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders, with Al Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
