Yemen’s Houthi fired missiles at Israel Declaring War

In a significant escalation of the Israel-Gaza conflict, Houthi rebels from Yemen launched a barrage of missiles and drones towards southern Israel, with Tel Aviv as their target. The move comes in response to Israeli forces striking the Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza, resulting in the tragic loss of innocent lives and causing catastrophic damage. The Israeli action has drawn condemnation from various nations.

Amid these deadly attacks, the Yemeni military organization retaliated, citing their opposition to what they perceive as US-backed Israeli aggression in Gaza. The Houthi rebels have also issued threats of further attacks on Israel, warning that such actions would continue if Jewish forces persist in what they see as a massacre of Palestinians.

Israeli authorities have reported the successful interception of a missile originating from the Red Sea area, and they claim to have thwarted other aerial threats as well. As the conflict intensifies, Israel has deployed a new aerial defense system named Arrow, marking the first time it has been used to intercept surface-to-surface missiles in the Red Sea.

These attacks originating from Yemen, Lebanon, and other regions are contributing to the transformation of the Gaza war into a broader regional conflict, further escalating tensions in the region. This surge in regional hostilities follows a surprise attack launched by Palestinian groups inside Israel on October 7.

Simultaneously, Tel Aviv has expanded its aerial and ground offensive in the Gaza Strip, which has endured relentless bombardment for nearly 25 days. The toll on Palestinian lives has been devastating, with over 8,000 casualties resulting from Israel’s land operations and airstrikes, while in Israel, the death toll has reached approximately 1,400. The situation remains fluid and highly volatile, with the potential for further escalation in this complex and fraught conflict.
