A High-Ranking U.S. Official is set to Visit Islamabad

A high-ranking official from the U.S. State Department is scheduled to visit Islamabad next week for discussions with Pakistani officials, as announced by the State Department on Friday.

Julieta Valls Noyes, the Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration, will be in Islamabad from December 4 to 7. The purpose of the visit, according to the statement, is for Assistant Secretary Noyes to engage with senior government officials, as well as non-governmental and international organization partners.

The discussions will focus on collaborative efforts to protect vulnerable individuals and expedite the safe and efficient relocation and resettlement of Afghan refugees within the U.S. immigration process.
