The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has yet to officially announce its choice for the next Chief Minister of Sindh, but sources indicate that Syed Murad Ali Shah, the former chief minister, is a strong candidate. Previous contenders rumored for the position included Faryal Talpur, Sharjeel Inam Memon, and Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.

However, sources suggest that Faryal is not interested in the role. The PPP is expected to make an official announcement in the coming days, with sources stating that the party leadership is satisfied with Murad’s performance. Murad Ali Shah served as the Chief Minister of Sindh from 2016 to 2023 and recently won in the general elections from PS-77 Jamshoro-I. The next Sindh Assembly session, where the new Chief Minister will be sworn in, is set to take place after the final notifications of successful candidates are issued.
