After returning from the “Gaza Solidarity March” on Sunday, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Senator Mushtaq Ahmed faced an attempt by Islamabad police to arrest him. Ahmed took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the ordeal, stating that the police tried to apprehend him while his family, including children, was in the car. Recounting the incident, he mentioned that his car was chased by the police, and there were attempts to snatch mobile phones from his son and driver.
Ahmed further explained that he was asked to present his identity card, and when he complied, the police officials resorted to threats. The encounter between Ahmed and the officers escalated into a heated exchange.

Meanwhile, JI senior leader Liaqat Baloch emphasized the need for political stability, urging for transparent polls to achieve this goal. Baloch stressed that the JI had faced various obstacles in reaching out to the masses, and he highlighted the significance of respecting the decisions made by voters. He underscored the importance of accepting the voters’ choices to ensure stability in the political landscape.
