The revival of the Safari Tourist Train by Pakistan Railways is set to offer travelers a unique and unforgettable experience, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and picturesque landscapes of the Potohar region. The journey will commence from Islamabad’s historic Golra Station and conclude at Attock Khurd, providing passengers with an opportunity to explore historical landmarks and scenic beauty along the route.

The Safari train will embark from Golra Station, passing through notable stops such as Hasan Abdal, Attock, and Attock Khurd Railway stations. Attock Khurd, home to the oldest railway museum in the area, holds historical significance and offers visitors a glimpse into Pakistan’s railway heritage.

The primary objective behind reintroducing the tourist train is to promote tourism and acquaint travelers with the diverse cultural heritage of Pakistan’s railways, contributing to the growth of the tourism sector.

Additionally, the train will traverse the historic iron girder bridge spanning the Indus River, connecting Punjab with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.

Golra Station, with its colonial-era history, houses the Islamabad Railway Museum, offering a fascinating insight into Pakistan Railways’ heritage through antique steam engines and heritage railway kitchens.

Upon reaching Attock Khurd Station, passengers will have the opportunity to explore the scenic beauty and recreational spots along the Indus River.
