Elon Musk’s interest in self-driving cars as a key component of Tesla’s future has been long-standing. However, the realization of fully autonomous vehicles has yet to materialize despite much anticipation.

In a recent announcement, Musk unveiled Tesla’s plan to launch its robotaxi on August 8. Tesla’s goal is to develop cars capable of driving themselves without human intervention, with continuous improvement in their driving capabilities facilitated by software updates.
While Tesla has offered Full Self-Driving as a purchasable feature, current implementation still requires driver supervision. Musk acknowledges past delays in achieving predictions regarding self-driving technology but remains optimistic about future advancements.
