In a retaliatory strike, Punjab Police killed Bashir Shar, the main suspect in the attack that killed 12 policemen in Machka, Rahim Yar Khan, using advanced weaponry. Two of Bashir Shar’s accomplices were injured in the operation.
Punjab Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar announced a continued crackdown on the robbers responsible, promising justice for those involved in the attack.

Following the incident, security has been intensified in Ghotki, with increased police presence and alerts at key locations.
Dr. Usman Anwar confirmed that the operation, conducted in coordination with Sindh Police, resulted in the death of the main accused and injuries to several accomplices.
He emphasized that Punjab and Sindh Police are collaborating closely on this operation and bolstering checkpoints in the area.
