Iran has named its former Defense Minister as the new Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces. The appointment was announced at a ceremony in Tehran, with Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, the Chief of Staff, present. This change comes as part of a broader military leadership restructuring.
The reshuffle follows President Massoud Pizeshkian’s recent cabinet changes, which included appointing Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh as the new Defense Minister, replacing Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani.
