NAB Drops New Toshakhana Case Against Imran Khan

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has officially withdrawn the new Toshakhana case against former Prime Minister Imran Khan from the Accountability Court. NAB’s Zonal Head for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Johar Khaleel, announced that the case has been transferred to the Special Judge Central due to recent NAB amendments, which placed the case outside of NAB’s jurisdiction.

Imran Khan’s lawyer, Salman Safdar, argued that the case does not qualify as a criminal offense under current laws. The NAB prosecutor agreed, confirming that the amendments have removed the case from their authority.

Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Ali Warraich ordered the case transfer and noted that bail applications would be handled by the Special Judge Central. A hearing is set for September 10.

In another case, Khan has requested acquittal in the 190 million pounds reference, citing a recent Supreme Court ruling on NAB amendments, which he successfully challenged. The court has delayed the acquittal hearing to September 10.
