Israeli Airstrikes Intensify in Gaza, Dozens Killed Amid Fighting in Jabalia

Gaza

Israeli airstrikes have killed at least 50 Palestinians in Gaza as the military tightens its hold on Jabalia, a key area in northern Gaza, during intense battles with Hamas fighters. Palestinian health officials reported that 17 people lost their lives in Jabalia near Al-Falouja, while another 10 were killed when an Israeli missile struck a home in Bani Suhaila, south of Khan Younis.

Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli strikes destroyed three homes in Gaza City’s Sabra suburb, with emergency services recovering two bodies and continuing their search for 12 missing individuals. Additional casualties included eight people in Nuseirat camp in central Gaza, where a house was hit. A doctor was killed and several medics were injured in northern and southern Gaza while aiding those wounded by Israeli strikes.

Jabalia, encircled by Israeli forces, has been the focus of Israel’s offensive for more than ten days. The United Nations raised concerns that the Israeli military is isolating northern Gaza from the rest of the region, while the Israeli military claims its operations target terrorist infrastructure. Despite calls for evacuation, many in Gaza’s north remain, facing shortages of food, medication, and fuel, particularly in hospitals like Kamal Adwan.

The conflict, which escalated after Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7, has claimed over 42,000 Palestinian lives, according to Gaza health authorities, with casualties rising as Israeli forces press deeper into the region.
