Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has introduced several new welfare programs aimed at supporting minority communities and farmers across Punjab. At a Diwali event in Lahore, she extended greetings to the Hindu community and announced the launch of a minority card program on 20 December. This initiative will provide low-income minority families with Rs 10,000 every three months to help ease their financial burdens.
Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of religious inclusivity, asserting that all Pakistanis contribute equally to the country’s progress, regardless of their faith. She also pledged Rs 15,000 to each of the 1,400 minority families present at the Diwali celebration and promised increased funding for minority welfare initiatives in the province.
Addressing Punjab’s ongoing smog crisis, CM Nawaz called for cross-border cooperation between Indian and Pakistani Punjab to find solutions, highlighting the shared human impact of the environmental issue.
