Australia defeated Pakistan by 29 runs in the rain-shortened match at The Gabba in Brisbane on Thursday. Batting first, Australia posted a challenging 94-run target, thanks to Glenn Maxwell’s explosive 43 off 19 balls and Marcus Stoinis’s 21 from 7 balls. Maxwell hit eight boundaries, including three sixes, before being dismissed by Abbas Afridi.
Pakistan fought back with tight bowling from Haris Rauf, Abbas Afridi, and Naseem Shah, but Australia’s late hitting from Stoinis helped them reach 93-4. Despite the chase, Pakistan could not manage to overcome the target.
