Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary Information Sheikh Waqas Akram has declared the party’s determination to proceed with their planned protest march and sit-in at D-Chowk, Islamabad, on November 24, despite government measures to stop them. He emphasized the party’s commitment to exercising their constitutional right to peaceful protest, asserting, “We will break through any barriers to reach our destination and will not return without achieving our objective.”
PTI leaders, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, former President Arif Alvi, and others, reiterated this stance in a meeting chaired by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar. The leadership finalized plans for the protest, stating that they are fully prepared to face any obstacles and will march towards Islamabad as planned. The party intends to conduct a sit-in at D-Chowk and will use heavy machinery to remove any roadblocks, with security measures handled by the Youth Wing.

In response, the government has ramped up security measures, including the imposition of Section 144 across Punjab for three days and the deployment of thousands of security personnel in Islamabad. High-ranking officers are accompanying security contingents to ensure law and order, with district commanders overseeing operations. The Punjab inspector general is also in Islamabad to coordinate security efforts amid the heightened tension.
