Road Closures in Gujrat Lead to Patient's Death in Ambulance

A patient tragically passed away in an ambulance trapped in a traffic jam in Gujrat. The incident occurred on the Jhelum Bridge in Sarai Alamgir, where the Punjab government had blocked several routes in preparation for a PTI protest.

A viral video on social media shows bystanders carrying the deceased’s body on a stretcher, surrounded by vehicles stuck in gridlock due to the road closures.

The Punjab government has enforced Section 144 across the province from November 23 to 25, banning protests, gatherings, rallies, sit-ins, and similar activities.

Additionally, all motorways and 15 major routes in Islamabad have been blocked, including Kati Pahari, Nicholson Monument, Paswal, Fatehjang Road, Margalla Avenue, Faizabad, and Barakahu.

These restrictions have caused significant inconvenience for thousands of citizens, many of whom are struggling to reach their destinations, even during emergencies.

Despite the challenges, PTI has vowed to proceed with its “do-or-die” march to Islamabad on November 24, following failed negotiations and the government’s decision not to release Imran Khan on Friday.
