Pakistan has achieved a major milestone with the successful export of its first shipment of berry honey to Malaysia, marking a significant step forward in the country’s agricultural exports. This achievement highlights Pakistan’s growing presence in the global honey market, facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
The Ministry of Commerce is actively working to expand Pakistan’s honey exports internationally, with the Pakistan High Commission in Kuala Lumpur playing a key role in fostering business connections between Pakistani and Malaysian companies.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which produces 20,000 tons of honey annually through 60,000 honey farms, is a major contributor to the sector, providing employment for 1.6 million people. The region boasts a well-established infrastructure with bee clusters and processing facilities.
To further strengthen this industry, experts are being consulted on potential investments in bee clusters and processing infrastructure, and a proposal for a dedicated “Honey Board” is under consideration to boost exports. This initiative is part of SIFC’s broader strategy to drive Pakistan’s economic growth through targeted agricultural exports.
