Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu and his wife, Navjot Kaur Sidhu, have been served a ₹850 crore legal notice by the Chhattisgarh Civil Society (CCS) over claims made about Kaur’s cancer recovery.

During a press conference, Sidhu claimed that his wife recovered from stage 4 cancer within 40 days due to a “special diet.” CCS convener Dr. Kuldeep Solanki labeled these statements as “misleading” and “dangerous,” arguing they could undermine trust in allopathic medicine and lead patients to abandon critical treatments.
The notice demands evidence and a public apology within seven days. If unaddressed, the CCS has threatened legal action and requested clarification from Kaur regarding her husband’s assertions.
