Unidentified gunmen killed two police officers in Swat’s Mingora, officials reported Thursday morning, as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa faces terrorism, which has grown in recent months.
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), an outlawed militant organisation, has increased attacks on security personnel since breaking the truce with Islamabad in November last year.
In response, Pakistani security forces have expanded operations against terrorists in an effort to eradicate the threat of terrorism, which has recently been defeated.

Both constables, Umra Khan and Ashraf Ali, were shot near Mingora’s Sabzi Mandi district in the early morning hours, according to police, and were transferred to a nearby hospital where they died from their injuries.

After cordoning off the area, police launched a search and detained two “suspects” from the neighbourhood.
