The tragic incident involving the murder of student Rana Ammar took place on the premises of the university, near the Sports Gymnasium. Ammar was shot in the chest and leg by two fellow students, Huzefa from the Botany department and Dilawar from Gender Studies. Both suspects had a prior altercation with Ammar just days before the shooting, which is currently under investigation by the police to understand the motives behind the conflict.

After the shooting, Dilawar, one of the suspects, reportedly took Ammar to the hospital, although Ammar did not survive the injuries.
